The representatives of the Republic of Ghana: Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Russia Dr. Kodzo K. Alabo and First Secretary for Education Consul Mr. Abdul Rashid Inusah visited Belgorod universities. In a warm and relaxed atmosphere, a meeting was held with the rector of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A.M. Gridchin and Deputy Governor of the Belgorod Region - Head of the Department of Education, Culture and Youth Policy Y.V. Kovryijnykh. During the conversation, the parties exchanged the most cordial greetings.

• The delegation from Serbia, which included Belota Radosavljevic, a professor at the University of the Novy Sad Academy of Economics; Janko Djurić, director of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Russia; Ph.D., Associate Professor Milan Radoslavlevich, Vice-Rector for Scientific Activities of the University of the Academy of Economics; Nenad Ciro, a third-year student at the University of Economics Academy, a representative of the student parliamentBSTU visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The result of the meeting with the rector of BSTU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A.M. Gridchin was the signing of an agreement on cooperation between the two universities.

• On May, 25th, 2009 on Belgorod Shukhov State Technological University square the festive meeting of students’ delegation who arrived for training from Kuwait took place. For the first time at our university so representative group (50 persons) of this friendly country will be trained. A special feature of these students is the high social status which they have in their motherland: they are managers of leading firms, heads of major enterprises and organisations. The majority of them will receive in Belgorod the second higher education in addition to their first higher education. Chosen specialities by Kuwait representatives are connected with economy, building engineering, electric power industry, mechanical equipment and ecology.

On June 18, the delegation headed by First Secretary - Consul of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation Ahmed Ovezovich Esenov visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The deputy head of the Department of Culture of the Belgorod Region Evgeny Alexeyevich Aleshnikov, General Director of the VladMiva Company Vladimir Petrovich Chuev and Chairman of the Russian-Turkmen Friendship Society Vladimir Stepanovich Lapin were also the part of the delegation. As the diplomat announced, it was decided to install a memorial plate to the soldiers of Turkmenistan who died in our territories during the Great Patriotic War in agreement with the administration of the city of Belgorod. Our university is ready to render active assistance in the development of international relations between the two countries.

An American guest professor from USA Mr. Ernest Forman paid a n official visit to BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. Ernest Foreman is a doctor of philosophy in mathematical methods of operations research and artificial intelligence systems, a professor at the University of Washington, author of three monographs and numerous publications. Ernest Foreman is the founder and chairman of the firm Expert Choice (USA, Virginia). A cooperation agreement was signed between the BSTU named after M.Sh. V.G. Shukhov and Expert Choice. And also the high guest was given the mantle of the Honorary Professor of our University.

• The delegation from Colombia, which included representatives of the national university, heads of construction organizations, enterprises for the production of modified bituminous binders, representatives of regional authorities responsible for the transport and road sector visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The purpose of this visit is the signing of documents on cooperation with organizations and institutions in Russia, discussion of possible aspects of cooperation between Russian and Colombian organizations (universities, design and technology centers), familiarity with the experience of construction and design organizations in Russia.

• The delegation of the Swedish Royal University of Technology (Stockholm): project managers for grants Victor Cordes and Lennart Johansson visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. They were accompanied by representatives of the Kharkov Aerospace University named after M.Y. Zhukovsky (Kharkov Aviation Institute): Vice-Rector for International Relations V.T. Sikulsky, project manager A.Y. Kuznetsov, head of the department Y.A. Vorobyev. During the visit, opportunities for cooperation and student exchange, organization of joint scientific research between BSTU and the Royal Swedish University of Technology were discussed.

The visit of the representatives of the RUSSIA TODAY TV channel to BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov was held on November 10. This TV channel is well known and popular in the Arab world. The purpose of the arrival of the crew of this well-known channel is the material preparation about the life of students from Muslim countries in one of the most comfortable cities of Russia. Representatives of the well-known TV channel met with the rector of BSTU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, prof. A.M. Gridchin. Representatives of RUSSIA TODAY TV channel showed great interest in the educational process, where Arab students take part, met with representatives of Kuwait, Syria, Jordan, Yemen, Palestine.
