The delegation of the Serbian city of Nis visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. Within the framework of the visit, the exhibition «Serbia-Russia: Friendship Through the Ages» was opened in the Exhibition Complex. A presentation of international scientific work devoted to the issues of regional development in the context of globalization was held. Authors: Professor of the Economic Institute of the City of Nish Milosh Todorovich, Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Foreign Economic Activity of BSTU, E.A. Strebkov, V. Ryapukhin and S. Shevtsova.

A youth delegation from the German city of Jena visited our university. The visit was part of the program of international experience exchange on the organization of work with young people. An excursion around the university campus was organized for the Germany youth group.

• International congress of cement workers was held at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. Organizers: Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov, European Technical Institute and «INTERNATIONAL ZKG» magazine. During the representative scientific and practical forum problems of perfection of technologies and equipment for extraction, transportation and preparation of raw materials, equipment for packing products and new ways of its storage were considered. The most important issues for cement production, improvement of environmental characteristics of the enterprises of the industry and training of qualified personnel for the cement industry were discussed.

• Visit a member of the American Institute of Architects Frank Lloyd Ryde paid an official visit to BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. Lectures on modern architecture of America were interesting and useful for faculty staff and students of the Architecture and Construction Institute. Brian Spencer got acquainted with the Architecture and Construction Institute. He was awarded the title of «Honorary Professor» for significant contribution and assistance in the development of creative professions.

On November 11, the opening of the III Russian-Japanese Student Forum was held as part of the implementation of the Program envisaged by the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Japan in the field of youth cooperation with the participation of the Rosobrazovanie. In 2008, a rigtht to conduct the III Russian-Japanese Forum of Student Youth was granted to BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.

On December 2, 2008 the IV International Student Forum «Education, Science, Production» was held in Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov. The main objectives of the forum: the expansion of scientific and cultural interuniversity student relations, the support of professional training and intellectual development of Russian youth in a single scientific, educational and international space. The forum was attended by 2,000 students from 120 universities from Russia, China, Serbia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and other foreign countries. The use of interactive technologies allowed to significantly expand the geography of participants. The delegations were led by the president of the Association of Cameroonian Students in Russia, Ngan Tony Francois, President of the Association of Latin American Students Miguel de la Cruz Salcedo (Peru) and other officials.
