The rector of the Higher School of Engineers of Ales (France) Mr. Alain Dorizon paid an official visit to Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov. The purpose of the visit is familiarization with our university, as well as the conclusion of agreements on the development of scientific and technical cooperation between BSTU and the Higher School of Engineers of Ales (France). A delegation from France met with the rector, Doctor of Economics, Professor S.N. Glagolev. During the meeting parties discussed further mutual cooperation. On February 9, a framework agreement on cooperation between a group of higher schools of engineers (Ales Higher School of Engineers) represented by the rector Alain Dorizona and Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov represented by the rector, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor S.N. Glagolev was signed. Within the framework of the signed agreement, both parties intend to implement the plans outlined during this visit. |
APRIL

BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov received a delegation of representatives of the Embassy of Iraq with a business visit. It included - the Ambassador of Iraq Mr. Faik Farik Abdelaziz Nervei and the attaché on culture of the Republic of Iraq - Dr. Tuaima Muttair Hussein. The goal of distinguished guests is the cooperation agreement between our university and the Bureau of Culture of the Republic of Iraq. The delegation of representatives of the Embassy of Iraq met with the head of the department of education, culture and youth policy of the Belgorod region Yu.V. Kovrizhnyh, the first deputy head of the department of the agro-industrial complex of the region A.A. Sevalnev, the first deputy head of the Department of Economic Development, A.V. Shuleshko. The meeting was also attended by the rector of BSTU, Doctor of Economics, Professor S.N. Glagolev and other officials. The result of a two-day visit of representatives of the Embassy of Iraq to our university was the signing of an agreement on the educational and scientific cooperation between BSTU and the Bureau of Culture of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the Russian Federation. |
MAY
| On May 20 Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov received a delegation from the town of Vyshgorod (Ukraine), who came to our university for sharing experience. The representatives were Y.V. Senyuk, academician of the Ukrainian Academy of science and V.N. Fedosenko, director of «Technoporoject» (research and production facility). The Ukrainian representatives were interested in the following areas: power saving technologies and new trends in research and development, including youth research. The members of the Ukrainian delegation shared their experience in innovations area. | |
| Rector of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Doctor of Economics, prof. S.N. Glagolev presented the diploma of Honorary Doctor of our university to the professor of Weimar University Hans-Bertram Fischer for his contribution to the development of international scientific and educational activities. The representative of Weimar University highly appreciated the activities of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professors I.G. Luginina and V.K. Klassen, who once visited the Weimar University and gave a series of lectures for students. Dr. H.-B. Fisher is currently actively involved in the educational process. Using remote technologies, he gives lectures to students on construction, in particular, plaster materials. | |

The Head of the Students Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Angola came on a visit to BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The aim of her visit was strengthening the cooperation with our university, training over 40 students from Angola. Mrs. Ruth Da Conceicao Da Silva expressed a vivid interest to the students’ living conditions and how successful they are adapting themselves to the university life. |
JUNE

A delegation of the Association of Teachers of Iraq visited the university. During the two-week business trip the guests visited a number of educational institutions in the region, got familiarized with school programs, and also met with the leadership of local department of education, culture and youth policy. |

The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Russian Federation arrived on a business visit to Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov on June 16, 2011. The delegation was represented by His Excellency, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Oman to the Russian Federation, Mr. Mohammed Awad Abdoul Rahman Al-Hassan, the head of Education section in the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Russia, Mr. Jamel Fadel, Head of information service of the Embassy, Mrs. Lina Matni. |
JULY

Within the framework of international cooperation, an associate professor of the Department of Civil Engineering and Mechanics of the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Konstantin Sobolev visited our university. Associate Professor of the University of Wisconsin met with the rector of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, with students and staff from the Institute of Building Materials Science. Konstantin Sobolev delivered a lecture on «Basic research and development in the field of building nanotechnology», and then visited the nanotechnology section in building materials science. |

On July 21 a delegation of representatives from one of Europe's largest cement producers - JSC «Lafarge Cement» visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov on a business trip. Among the guests –was a Coordinator for Technological Cooperation of the French Embassy in Russia Mathieu Girard and head of sustainable construction and affordable housing Constantine Korotov. The purpose of the visit of cement specialists was the expansion of cooperation between the both parties. |

On July 30, 2011, the Belgorod land received an official delegation from the Republic of Iraq, which included: The Minister of Higher Education and scientific research of the Republic, Dr. Ali Mohammed Ali Al-Adeeb, cultural attache of the Embassy of Iraq in Russia, Dr. Tuaimah Muttair Hussein Al Murshedi, Assistant to the Minister of Higher Education Mr. Amer Hussein Abbood Al-Gburi, Assistant to the Minister of Higher Education Mundher Azouz Shakir Al-Jaafari. The official visit of the Republic of Iraq started with a meeting with local government officials with the deputy governor of the region O. Polukhin, who, on behalf of the Governor and the Government of the Belgorod region, extended a warm welcome to the guests. Oleg Nikolaevich expressed confidence that the visit of the Iraqi delegation will strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries in the educational, economic and cultural fields. |

On July 4, French students from the University of Strasbourg and the Graduate School of Marketing 2011 BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The main purpose of the visit of foreign delegations is to study the Russian language for a month, to familiarize with the Russian culture and customs, as well as to expand cooperation in the area of education between the two countries. It is also important to note that last year was declared as the Year of France in Russia. In this regard, France is implementing programs of cooperation in economic, scientific, cultural and educational spheres. |
OCTOBER

On October 31, the delegation of the University of Pristina (Serbia) visited Belgorod State Technological University Shukhov. The delegation included the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Zdravko Vitoshevich, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Doctor, Professor Srecko Milachech, Dean of Pedagogic Faculty, Prof. Dr. Radivoje Kulich, General Secretary of Alumni Association of Russian and Soviet universities in Serbia and Montenegro, Petar Paykovich. The purpose of the visit is signing a cooperation agreement with BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov for further improving educational and research activities. |

On November 11 the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq, consisting of the Cultural Attache of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq Dr. Hussain Tuayma Muttair and deputy cultural attache Abdeldzhalil Yasin. |
