On January 16 delegation of Hulunbeier Institute (China) headed by the rector, Professor Zhu Yudong, including vice-rector Kuo Veychzhun, head of International Department, Professor Li Xiuling and deputy head of the International Department, Associate Professor Wang Xuan arrived to Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov on a business and official visit.

In February BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov hold a joint road safety workshop with the representatives from the state Traffic Safety Inspectorate. The youth road safety squad of BSTU put forward such an unusual initiative. The young people have decided to attract foreign students to their activity. The event was the opening of the campaign on road safety under the motto «With the whole world for the road peace». Within the framework of the events, the foreign volunteers were recorded in the studio of the radio station Autoradio-Belgorod and were on air on the 21th of February. The program called to respect the traffic rule. The recording was made by 12 young people in French, Arabic, Chinese and other foreign languages, appealing to road users to obey traffic rules, be polite to other drivers, passengers and pedestrians.

On February 26, 2013 Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov was visited by a foreign delegation, which included representatives from China, Cameroon, India, Nepal and Pakistan. Acquaintance of representatives of international educational agencies with the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.

Students Internship from the Institute of Information Technologies and Control Systems of BSTU in Kosovo Mitrovica (Serbia), in Pristina State University. The delegation took part in the work of the international youth forum.

Delegation of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov took part in the international forum on research and innovation in Düsseldorf (Germany) «Successful R & D in Europe 2013». The delegation from BSTU, under the direction of the vice-rector for scientific activity, E.I. Yevtushenko participated in the international forum at the invitation of the International Academy of Management and Technology (INTAMT, Düsseldorf). The delegation took part in the sessions of the two sections and presented reports on the five areas of scientific activity of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.

Internship of Serbian students in the learning of the Russian language and teaching methods of «Russian as a foreign language» in BSTU. The certificates were issued.

From 3 to April 10 2013the Head of the Department of Real Estate Assessment and management, prof. Irina Avilova participated in the State Certification Commission for the defence of graduation theses in the «Expertise and management of real estate» in Hanoi Civil Engineering University (Hanoi, Vietnam). The parties entered into a framework agreement between BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov and Hanoi Institute of Civil Engineering on introducing long-term programs into the training process to improve the ranking and strengthen the position of our universities in the international educational space.

On April 9, the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov received a delegation from the French University of Science and Technology Lille-1. The guests arrived to the Belgorod region to take part in a business mission organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The I International Scientific and Technical Online Conference of Students, Graduate Students and Young Scientists was held at the Department of Building Materials, Products and Structures. Representatives from leading universities of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Germany, etc. took part in the conference. The participants of the online conference received a unique interchange experience in the field of building materials science and came to the conclusion that the building science has a great potential for further development, and in the coming decades during the event.

Visit of the delegation of government representatives and the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq was held at the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. It consisted of the chairman of the committee on international affairs and education, Sheikh Khomam Bakir Khamudi, the assistant to the chairman of the committee Ali Hamid Radhi Al Omairi, the attaché on culture of the Embassy of Iraq in the Russian Federation, Dr. Tuaima Muttair Hussein. It is proposed to establish a cultural center of Iraq at the technological university. An agreement on cooperation was signed. The presentation of the diploma of Honorary Doctor to Sh Khomam Bakir Khamudi was held.

The visit of the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, which includes Deputy Secretary General for Parliamentary and Legal Affairs of the Upper House of the National Assembly, Associate Professor Shah Sultan Akifi and Policy Adviser of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan Amin Mohammad Zaman. A cooperation agreement was signed. A meeting was held with Afghan citizens studying in the universities of Belgorod.

As part of the educational and cultural exchange a group of students from Serbia, studying economics at the University of Nis visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The purpose of the internship is to study Russian as a foreign language. Along with classes in Russian language, students were given lectures on economics. A large cultural program was prepared for the guests, including a visit to the leading museums in Belgorod and Prokhorovka.

Dr. Alhay Hussein Mohamed Tazhddin from Saudi Arabia, a member of the association «Saudi Green Building Council» visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. He gave lectures to the student and made a report at the international webinar.

The dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Nis (Serbia) professor, Dr. Goran Maksimovich visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. During the meeting with the rector, Doctor of Economics, prof. S.N. Glagolev, they discussed ways to develop further cooperation between the two universities. Goran Maksimovich rated the highest our university.

The delegation of Shandong University (China) visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The agreement on cooperation was signed and the ways of interaction in the field of education and science are outlined.

A group of foreign students arrived in Belgorod. During one month, young people from France, Serbia and Sri Lanka will learn Russian language under the program «Study + leasure».

On August 1 the delegation of representatives of the New Zealand chemical corporation «Nuplex» visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The delegation included the CIO in Europe, Central Asia and Africa Paul Kiefer, the development director Harold Hoffman, process engineer Ad van Lun, director of the plant of powder resins (England) Peter Dausma. «Nuplex» company in association with the group «KVIL» plans to launch a plant for the production of resins and dispersions for paint and varnish materials in Belgorod region.

Within the framework of the IV Russian-Turkmen economic forum in Belgorod, the delegation of Turkmenistan visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhova- as the leading university in the construction and production of building materials field.

The delegations from Zhejiang, Tianjin and Jilin Universities (60 people) visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The reason of the visit is the Russian-Chinese Student Youth Festival.

The delegation of the «GLASS SERVISE, INC» company from the Czech Republic visited the department «Technology of glass and ceramics».

The professors from the University of Nis are undergoing language internship at the university. The internship included Russian language classes as well as acquaintance with the culture, traditions and sights of Belgorod and the Belgorod region.

South Korean delegation of KOTRA representatives arrived in Belgorod. The purpose is to study the regional program «Development of renewable energy sources for 2013-2015 and for the period until 2020». During their staying, the delegation of representatives of KOTRA (South Korea) visited the energy saving demonstration zone at BSTU.

The President of the Association of Foreign Students of Russia paid a visit to BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov. The purpose of the visit was acquaintance with the university's management, the conditions of study and residence of foreign citizens, a meeting with students.

Rector of the Russian-Egyptian University visited BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov in order to get acquainted with the management and the teaching staff of the university.
